
Three suspects have been charged in the disappearance and death of Maury-Ange Faith Martinez, a 20-year-old Alpharetta woman whose remains were discovered in Tennessee. According to police reports, Martinez was reported missing from Gwinnett County on August 28, 2023, and her remains were found later in a rural area near Chattanooga. 11Alive reports that the Hamilton County medical examiner confirmed the remains belonged to Martinez.
Allan Kerr, Sean Deschauzer, and Jasmine Craig have been charged with concealing the death of another, this charge links them to the tragic end Martinez faced, Kerr, and Deschauzer, already behind bars on unrelated drug charges, now find their fates entangled with the somber investigation into the young woman's untimely passing. Atlanta News First reported that the latter was taken into custody in a separate jurisdiction.
Details on the circumstances surrounding Martinez's death remain scarce, as the authorities have not yet disclosed a cause of death or the events that led up to her disappearance. Martinez was last known to be on Powers Ferry Road after leaving the county jail before she went missing. It also remains uncertain as to how long her remains had been at the location where they were found.
Kerr and Deschauzer are awaiting the proceedings of their charges in Cobb County—whereas Craig was arrested in Kansas, and she is awaiting extradition back to Georgia, said Cobb County Police. As the case continues to develop, mugshots have been requested for Kerr and Deschauzer by 11Alive while further information about the suspects is anticipated to be released by law enforcement agencies involved.
