Houston dwellers with a sweet tooth and a penchant for driving ranges are in for a treat as Topgolf swings into town with its promotional ice cream truck tour. According to a report by the Houston Chronicle, the traveling ice cream truck will be giving out free frozen goodies at three of the city's Topgolf locations this July.
On its nationwide journey that started in Los Angeles, the truck has been dishing out ice cream, PepsiCo products, and Topgolf merchandise in various cities, this time it's Houston's turn with stops planned for July 20 in Spring at 560 Spring Park Center; July 21 in Katy at 1030 Memorial Brook; and July 22 in Webster at 21401 Gulf Freeway. CultureMap Houston also details the truck's past adventures through iconic West Coast landmarks and notes that while the Topgolf ice cream truck is living its best life touring the country; they pointed out the whimsical nature of the truck's Instagram presence.
Kathryn Vela, a spokesperson for the city of Webster, told the Houston Chronicle “Topgolf Webster has become an entertainment hub, captivating a super-regional residential and visitor market and enhancing Webster’s reputation as a premier destination for family-friendly entertainment, dining, and recreation.” The city expects the ice cream truck to draw more visitors to the main venue, which boasts a high-tech driving range, a lounge with drinks, and games, plus 102 climate-controlled hitting bays and a rooftop terrace.
As the frosty treats roll out, Houstonians who visit the participating locations can also indulge in some of Topgolf's limited-time menu offerings. According to CultureMap Houston, these include sliders with fried chicken and pimento cheese, a warm skillet-based pineapple upside-down cake with vanilla ice cream, and summer cocktails such as Mtn Dew Wild Punch developed in partnership with Pepsi – an exclusive concoction blending orange, mango, cherry, and pomegranate flavors.
