An 18-year-old man tragically lost his life in Westmoreland County when a tree fell on him at the Trafford Sportsmen's Club, as confirmed by dispatchers. The accident occurred this morning while the young man was aiding in clearing storm debris. The incident happened on 14000 Winchester Road, near the club, as reported by WPXI.
Authorities said the teenager was engaged in cleaning tasks following the upheaval left by last week’s tornado when he met his untimely demise as an excavator dropped a tree accidentally, striking him down. While helping to restore a semblance of order to a community riven by nature's fury, the young man's own life was cut short, according to CBS News.
Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson has been called to the scene, implying the seriousness of the incident, however, the identity of the victim has not been released pending the notification of his next of kin. The tragedy has left the community in shock, grappling with the randomness with which tragedy can strike even amid recovery efforts.
