Tragedy struck in north Austin on Thursday afternoon as two lives were cut short following a single-vehicle crash, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services. KXAN reports that the incident happened just before 5:15 p.m. on the Research Boulevard southbound service road by Ohlen Road, wherein both victims, adults, were found and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Austin Police and EMS were quick to respond to the crash, posting on their respective platforms that they had arrived for a vehicle rescue, unfortunately, it was too late for the occupants who could not be saved and the situation necessitated tending to the somber task of pronouncement of demise and clearing the grim tableau that lay before them, CBS Austin details that the roadway was closed for some time but has since been reopened to the public.
