Yesterday evening, a vehicular accident near downtown San Antonio required the jaws of life for extrication of two individuals from a car following a rollover crash. At around 9:30 p.m., at the intersection of West César E. Chávez Boulevard and South Pecos La Trinidad, two vehicles collided, causing one to roll over and leading firefighters to cut through the roof to free the trapped man and woman inside, according to KENS 5.
The San Antonio Fire Department responded to the crash site, which is situated near the UTSA's downtown campus, and officials indicated that both individuals were taken to Baptist Hospital downtown with minor injuries post rescue.
A notable detail surfaced from a report by KSAT, revealing that a pedestrian utilizing a wheelchair was struck during the tumult of the crash. Thankfully, they were treated and subsequently released at the scene.
While the driver of the second car involved in the collision stayed on for questioning and was reported unharmed, authorities are actively investigating to discern the responsible party as they stitch together the narrative of the crash.
