A robbery unfolded at the Chase Bank on N. Eldridge Parkway on Friday, where, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, an ATM was forcibly emptied of its contents by three male suspects. A Global Security employee, who had been working on the machine, was overpowered and pinned to the ground in the midst of the crime.
Following the robbery, law enforcement units, including Herman's deputies, a Constable K-9, Houston Police Department (HPD) officers and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) engaged in a pursuit of the alleged criminals two of whom were apprehended in the southern limits of Houston city, the suspects identified as Darrien Haywood and Ronnie Lewis one of them already out on bond were soon in custody. The third suspect remains at large; the search for the individual is ongoing. The vehicle believed to be used in the crime was abandoned nearby and is now in law enforcement possession.
The apprehended suspects didn't walk away scot-free - Constable Herman's post details that "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Robbery. Darrian Haywood's bond was set at $50,000.00 and Ronnie Lewis' bond was set at $75,000.00 out of the 230th District Court." likely in light of his existing legal troubles including charges for Fail to Identify and Possession of Marijuana.
Officials revealed that no physical injuries were sustained during the ordeal, according to the social media dispatch from Constable Herman's Office.
