Local authorities have shut down an illegal game room in North Houston following an undercover investigation spurred by community tips. The operation, led by investigators from Constable Mark Herman's Criminal Investigations Division, targeted an establishment reported to be a hub for unlawful gambling activities.
Situated in the 16700 block of Hollister St., the business was surveilled by undercover agents who confirmed the presence of illegal gambling. A search warrant was executed, resulting in the seizure of $14,584.00 in suspected gambling proceeds, a number of illegal gambling devices, and supporting documentation. An illegal gambling den, attracting various forms of criminality, was unveiled behind what the facade of the business seemed to present innocuously. Employees Son Van Nguyen and Thanh Van Nguyen are now facing criminal charges for Possession of Gambling Device Paraphernalia, as stated in a report by the Constable's office.
Reaffirming his stance on such activities, Constable Mark Herman was quoted saying, "If you suspect a location of illegal gambling, please contact our dispatch at 281-376-3472 or on-line at www.constablepct4.com/regulatory-enforcement-unit. All complaints or tips can be made anonymously.”
