The Chicago Police Department has issued an alert for a missing three-year-old boy, Malakhai Watkins, and his 27-year-old mother, Ariel Watkins. The young boy was last seen with his biological mother on July 13, 2024, in the vicinity of the 5100 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago, IL. The CPD has updated its bulletin to reflect new information regarding their last known outfits and physical descriptions.
According to the Chicago Police Department's report, Malakhai was wearing a white tank top, black shorts adorned with the Nike logo, white socks, and black crocs at the time of his disappearance. His mother, Ariel, described as having a medium complexion, black hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on both arms, was seen wearing a gray medium-length dress. Weighing in at roughly 40 pounds with a height of 3 feet, 3-year-old Malakhai has brown eyes and black hair as well.
Details regarding their disappearance remain limited but the police urge anyone with information to immediately contact 911 or get in touch with the Area One SVU Detectives at 312-747-8380. The urgency of locating young Malakhai, who was last surrounded by the familiar surroundings of his neighborhood when he disappeared with Ariel, is palpable through the CPD's call to the public for assistance.
