The city of Houston and its surrounding enclaves are now the focal points of an urgent search following the issue of an Amber Alert for Henderson Calderon Carranza, a 5-year-old boy last seen in the area. As reported by FOX 26 Houston, the young child disappeared from the 5500 block of Antoine Drive at around 9 p.m. on Thursday.
In an reach to swiftly engage the public's help, authorities from Suffolk County, New York, where the alert was originally activated, believe the boy to be in grave or immediate danger. Henderson, described as 3 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 55 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, was not reported to be wearing any distinctive clothing at the time of his disappearance. Anyone with information has been urged to directly call 911, or alternatively, the Suffolk County Police at (631)854-8345.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), together with the coordinating agencies, is also searching for Jose Calderon Arias, a 60-year-old man last seen in the company of the missing child. KHOU reports that Arias is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His relationship to Henderson has not been disclosed at this time.
Authorities have also released to manage a description of a vehicle linked to the case—a black Hyundai Sonata—though they have not provided a license plate number. This detail is crucial in aiding both citizens and law enforcement to spot and hopefully retrieve both Henderson and Jose.
