
A Vermont man has been taken into custody after a tense road rage confrontation on Cape Cod where he allegedly threatened a family with a gun, as reported by the Chatham Police Department. The incident, which occurred yesterday afternoon on Route 28, escalated to the point where 42-year-old Tracy Douse of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, was arrested and now faces multiple charges.
Following a call just after 4 p.m., Chatham Police were informed by a driver that he and his family were menaced by another motorist who brandished a firearm during what appeared to be an episode of road rage, and he provided descriptions of the suspect and his vehicle, Chatham Police said in a statement as per 7News - WHDH Boston. The responding officers located Douse shortly thereafter, and he was found with a loaded Glock 19 handgun during a traffic stop.
The Chatham Police Department announced that Douse is slated for arraignment today in Orleans District Court on an array of accusations: assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, illegal possession of ammunition, and disorderly conduct, as mentioned by Boston 25 News.
There was no immediate additional information offered by authorities regarding the incident, while the ongoing investigation seeks to illuminate the circumstances that led to the purported road rage occurrence and the ensuing threats made with a loaded firearm.
