The Visual Art League of Lewisville (VAL), a staple in the local art community, is turning its usual monthly Art Talk meeting into a bit of a soiree to celebrate its members. This shindig is happening on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. sharp at the Lewisville Grand Theater, a local beacon for all things creative, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
The VAL is bringing everyone up to speed with a "Year in Review" segment, designed to showcase the varied activities its members have thrown their talent and time into. And, of course, these efforts have reaped benefits not only for their collective but for the greater community at large. During the meeting, responses will be solicited through a Q&A session and discussion will ensue about their upcoming Fresh Ideas exhibit. As per the source, some lively chatter is expected.
Members and guests alike are being nudged to bring along art for the Artist of the Month honor. Anticipate a smidgeon of competitive spirit as attendees will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their art of choice. Two artists will, by the end of the evening, hold awards in their grasp, recognition of their peers' admiration.
