Those looking to enjoy the evening’s embrace will be greeted with a Southeast wind that is projected to slow down, only to calmly resume its course as light and variable later in the evening. Meanwhile, Sunday promises even more sun, inching the thermometer up to nearly 91. It’s advisable to prepare to slowly shift activities inside in the afternoon as the calm wind will tend to become west around 5 mph.
According to the forecast, the NWS, predicts a slight switch in patterns starting Monday with a 20% chance of showers post-2pm, despite the predominant sunshine that will fiercely push temperatures towards 94 degrees. This chance of precipitation will persist into the night, albeit under mostly cloudy skies and a low hovering around 75 degrees.
The possibility of rain slightly heightens on Tuesday with showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. A mix of sun and clouds will accompany these conditions, which have a 40% chance to unfold, while the high for the day is expected to hit near 89. Come nightfall, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will slightly decrease before 2am, as the sky becomes mostly cloudy and temperatures dip to around 74 degrees.
The rest of the week continues with a similar pattern. Random peeks of the sun will be interspersed with clouds and chances of showers and thunderstorms, stretching into the latter part of the week. By Friday, Washingtonians should brace for even hotter temperatures, as the high is forecast to spike to near 97 degrees with yet again, a 30% chance of thunderstorms.
