Washington State Patrol is on the lookout for a white Mini Cooper after a drive-by shooting rattled SR 599 this past Monday. The incident, which occurred near International Blvd at approximately 4:15pm, was reported to WSP communications through a 9-1-1 call. A witness at the scene described seeing the driver of the Mini Cooper firing a silver pistol.
The episode on SR 599 unfolded as a Chevy Tahoe pulled over—it's driver at first thinking they had a flat tire. According to Washington State Patrol, detectives believe that the gunfire from the Mini Cooper is likely what caused the flat. Fortuitously, the driver of the Tahoe did not sustain injuries during the shooting.
Investigators are still piecing together the details, but what's clearer is the description of the suspect's vehicle. The Mini Cooper, white in color, was driven by an individual with light skin, as noted by the sole eyewitness of the shooting. Adding to the efforts of the WSP, two pictures of the suspected vehicle have been released to aid in identification.
Anyone with information related to the drive-by shooting is encouraged to come forward. Washington State Patrol insists that even the smallest detail could be the key in apprehending the shooter. As the investigation continues, the safety of commuters on SR 599 and surrounding areas remains a prominent concern. The community waits in hope that the perpetrator will soon be brought to justice.
