
A West Deer man, identified as Jonathan Nealer, 40, is now in custody following a shooting in Frazer Township. Nealer is facing a felony count of aggravated assault after he was accused of shooting a man in the leg during an altercation. This incident took place in the 300 block of Clarks Pike Road earlier in the month, as reported by the Post-Gazette.
The unknown victim was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition following the shooting. Minutes after the event, Nealer reportedly called the local authorities to voluntarily report his involvement. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident. A preliminary hearing for the case is expected to be held on August 10.
According to WPXI, the shooting prompted an immediate response from police who arrived at the scene shortly before 4:45 p.m. on July 17. The injured party, having suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, required prompt medical intervention, which he received.
Nealer was encountered by West Deer police in the 100 block of Creighton Russelton Road half a dozen minutes after the event.
