It is time to trade in your couch for a picnic blanket and enjoy some fresh air because Wilshire Park is once again open. The city has unveiled a comprehensive suite of renovations at the 315 Sierra Drive location, focused on recreation and relaxation with a touch of sea inspiration. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the city, the park has reopened with enhancements that will delight both parents seeking a place for their children to play and outdoor enthusiasts eager to bask in the Texas sun.
The list of upgrades is extensive. The park now features a nautical-themed playground that is sure to be a hit with children. Additionally, there is a new 600-square-foot picnic shelter equipped with four new picnic tables and a bike rack, as well as three new picnic tables and pads. A brand-new restroom facility has also been installed. Furthermore, 53 new shade trees have been planted, and new sod and an irrigation system have been added. A new concrete trail has been constructed, connecting to the existing one that circles the pond, and an accessible ramp leading down to the fishing pier has been built, according to the City of Euless.
Drivers will appreciate the new parking area, which includes lighting and can accommodate 23 vehicles, eliminating the need to endlessly search for a spot when recreation beckons. The City of Euless extends its gratitude to the community for its patience during this renovation process.
