Wurzbach Road users, major improvements are on the horizon starting Monday, July 29. The stretch of road from I-10 to Fredericksburg Road is getting a face-lift with a focus on making life easier for pedestrians and public transit riders. We're talking about wider sidewalks, enhanced ADA accessibility, and optimized bus stop access.
The $2.35 million project is being broken down into four manageable phases, starting off between I-10 and Bluemel Road. To keep the daytime commute as smooth as possible, the city's plan is to tackle construction work at night.
Credit for these changes goes, in part, to Public Works Director Razi Hosseini, who outlined the rationale behind the upgrades. "This area of Wurzbach Road has a lot of pedestrians and public transit riders," Hosseini detailed in a statement. "We want to give them a safer and more comfortable experience. Performing most of the construction at night will help keep lanes open during the day for those traveling to and from the Medical Center.", As reported by City of San Antonio
