An unsettling shadow has been cast over Monroeville after an 18-year-old woman, identified as Joselyn Thomas, was found shot to death in an apartment within the Cambridge Square Apartments complex. The grim discovery was made on Wednesday, according to a report by CBS News Pittsburgh. Earlier that day, Thomas was reported missing to North Versailles Police just before 1:30 p.m.
As the investigation swiftly unfolded, Allegheny County Police were to soon ascertain that Albert Williams III, an 18-year-old from Pittsburgh, was responsible for her tragic death. Details from a criminal complaint revealed a troubling narrative, suggesting that a verbal altercation escalated to violence after Thomas purportedly brandished a pair of scissors, prompting Williams to shoot her multiple times. This account, as stated during an interview with police, portrays a birthday celebration turned awry, as the incident occurred on the suspect’s 19th birthday, as reported by WTAE.
Following the shooting, Williams, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered to Allegheny County Police. Court records reflect charges levied against Williams including criminal homicide and firearms-related offenses, alongside evidence tampering.
