A 70-year-old man faces murder charges following an altercation that turned deadly in a South Side Walmart parking lot. FOX San Antonio reports that Michael Waynne Ludwig was detained after he allegedly fatally shot a man early Monday morning.
Authorities arrived at the scene near the intersection of SE Military Drive and Roosevelt Avenue around 6:50 a.m., where they found an unresponsive male victim with multiple gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead at the location, though his identity has yet to be released, he appeared to be in his 30s and was possibly experiencing homelessness, according to KSAT.
Ludwig and an unidentified female witness were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. Where they provided statements to the Homicide Unit. The nature of the argument that preceded the shooting is still the subject of ongoing investigations, but it's been disclosed that Ludwig may have been residing in his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.
