An 80-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Lake County. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) stated that the incident occurred just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 435 and Dubsdread Drive in Sorrento. According to ClickOrlando, the motorcyclist veered off the road for unexplained reasons and collided with two traffic signs and then a tree which resulted in him being ejected from the vehicle.

The senior rider was urgently transported to Advent Health Apopka where he was pronounced dead following the accident, as reported by WFTV. His identity was confirmed as a Sorrento resident, although his name has not been released pending next of kin notification. The roadblock initially set up at the scene of a crash has since been lifted, and normal traffic flow on Dubsdread Drive has resumed.

The crash remains under active investigation by the FHP, as they look into the factors that may have contributed to this tragic outcome.
