An 80-year-old woman has passed away nearly a month after being involved in a traffic collision in the west Las Vegas Valley. The accident, which occurred on July 26 at the intersection of North Rampart and Del Webb boulevards, has been under investigation by local authorities. According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police cited by News3LV, the woman was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and attempted to turn left on a flashing yellow light when she was struck by an oncoming 2016 Land Rover Range Rover.
The collision caused the Land Rover to veer off the road and overturn, prompting emergency responders to quickly transport both the unrestrained driver of the Malibu and a passenger from the Range Rover to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. The Clark County coroner’s office confirmed on Tuesday that the octogenarian driver succumbed to her injuries.
