The one-day celebration is presented by the Boulder City Sunrise Rotary, and this year's live auction, running from 4 to 6 p.m., features the vintage Model A as its headline item, according to Boulder City Social. Alongside the big-ticket auction item, organizers are running a $1 basket drawing and a $3,000 electric-bike giveaway, per the same source. Volunteer Rotarians will also be busy at the grill, serving more than 4,000 bratwursts, sausages, and hot dogs over the course of the day, according to Vegas4Locals.
A Festival Built to Fund a Safer Graduation Night
Behind the brats and beer garden lies a serious purpose. Proceeds from the Wurst Festival primarily fund the Sunrise Rotary's annual drug- and alcohol-free All-Night Graduation Party for Boulder City High School seniors, according to the Boulder City Review. That event gives graduating seniors a supervised celebration with food, games, and gifts on one of the riskiest nights of the year for teen drivers.
The party is intended to help keep graduates safe on graduation night, per Boulder City Social. The food, auction, and raffle proceeds support that effort beyond a single Saturday of festivities.
Cars, Antiques, and an All-Day Lineup
The car culture runs deep at this event too. The Wurst Dam Car Show, organized by the Boulder City Cruisin' Association, runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to draw more than 200 classic vehicles, according to the Boulder City Cruisin Association. Show organizers explicitly ban political candidate messaging and business advertising on entries, keeping the focus squarely on the vehicles themselves.
