During the meeting on August 8, both parties dissected the current state and potential for boosted trade and foreign direct investment, acknowledging the mutual benefits thriving within the semiconductor sphere; in 2023 alone, Arizona's chip exports to Japan surpassed $878 million, while imports from Japan marked a considerable $1.66 billion these figures underscore the sector's critical role in the economic intercourse between Arizona and Japan. Chairman Cook stated, "Our conversation with Consul General Sone was instrumental in reinforcing the strong economic relationship between Arizona and Japan," as stated by the Arizona Legislature.
