Arlington's Aging Well Expo is putting a fresh spin on growing old gracefully, wagging its finger at the assumption that life plateaus after 50. Set against the backdrop of the Esports Stadium Arlington, at 1200 Ballpark Way, the Expo is promising a day brimming with vitality, zipper than a morning jog. Looking to pull on your Rangers jersey once more? Not only does the event tip its hat to the local World Series Champions, but it has also roped in Texas Rangers Legend Tom Grieve as its keynote speaker, as reported by the City of Arlington.
But before you dive headfirst into this vitality vessel, make sure to pre-register by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, or otherwise, you'll miss out on a free boxed lunch. And goodness, it's not just any lunch – imagine a wrap, snug with ham, chicken salad, or veggie options, nestled next to a pasta cup, a cookie, and, natch, a bottle of water. Coffee and water are also on the house, ensuring parched throats aren't part of the agenda. The sessions are a choose-your-own-adventure, running from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
With more than 100 vendors pitching their tents, the Expo is shaping up to be a one-stop shop for health screenings, fitness demos, and housing resources. Plus, if you're looking to plug into the local circuit, volunteering opportunities will be on the table. Participants who play their cards right can walk away with not just swag but potentially life-changing info. That's on top of the chance to fist-bump with fellow community members equally jazzed about squeezing every drop out of their golden years.
