
After decades of investigation and the tragic loss of a child, Orlando police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of 2-year-old Saundra Young. An online post by the Orlando Police Department announced that Gregory Fields was taken into custody on August 30 accused of the young girl's murder. Saundra Young tragically passed away following injuries sustained from abuse, an investigation initially sparked by an event dating back to October 24, 2001.

The victim, 2 year-old Saundra Young, sustained injuries which led to her death on 12/24/2023.

The investigation stemmed from an incident reported near W. Colonial Dr. & N. John Young Pkwy. Over the years, but after nearly 23 years, detectives have managed to bring closure to what surely seemed an unforgiving journey of justice for Saundra.
More details on the case and information about the upcoming court proceedings are expected to be released as the investigation continues. The Orlando Police Department has not provided additional comments regarding the arrest at this time.
