As stated by KXAN, overnight lows on Wednesday only marginally dipped, providing minimal relief with temperatures settling at 77°. "Wednesday should be almost a repeat of Tuesday with plenty of sun, some scattered clouds, and a very low shower chance in our eastern counties," KXAN reported.
While Austin endures this sultry week, the forecast, per the National Weather Service, shows no signs of cooling. Starting Friday, temperatures are expected to climb, potentially reaching a climax early next week with highs inching past the year's current peak of 102º. With the high-pressure system growing stronger, the city braces for what could be the "hottest temperatures of 2024."

Tropical Storm Ernesto, having buffeted the Virgin Islands, is expected "to strengthen into a hurricane Wednesday morning," as stated by KXAN. Although Ernesto currently seems to spare the continental United States, the intensifying system presents a possible threat for Bermuda as it potentially approaches a category 2 or 3 hurricane by the weekend.
