The city of Austin has announced upcoming changes to the operational hours and location of its municipal court facilities, according to releases from local news outlets. Starting on August 12, the main location of the Austin Municipal Court at the Bergstrom Tech Center will adjust its hours to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Friday, with an extension on Thursdays until 8 p.m. Phone hours for the court will remain the same, as detailed in a report by KXAN.
In a move aimed to improve resource efficiency, the announcement also includes the relocation of the North Customer Service Center. Previously stationed at 12425 Lamplight Village Avenue, the center will make its new home across the street at 2121 West Parmer Lane, Suite 116. The operating hours for this location are slated to run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., adhering to a standard Monday through Friday schedule. A statement obtained by CBS Austin from Mary Jane Grubb, Municipal Court Clerk, explains that the updates "to ensure that the Court makes efficient use of resources while honoring our commitment to provide fair and prompt service to individuals interacting with our department."
For residents needing to visit, the Austin Municipal Court notes that the operational shifts are designed to accommodate the public more conveniently. The City Hall location's hours, however, will continue as usual, unaffected by these adjustments. In-person services at the new address for the North Customer Service Center will be maintained, offering service windows to facilitate direct interactions with court personnel.
The court's announcement stresses a dedication to efficiency and maintaining accessibility for Austin's community members. Those looking for further information or needing to address questions about court services can contact the Austin Municipal Court at (512)-974-4800 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, as reaffirmed in the KXAN coverage.
