
The Austin Police Department has recently identified two victims from a fatal shooting that occurred on South Pleasant Valley Road, as reported in an update on the preliminary press release. The deceased have been named as Ricardo Martinez, a 39-year-old Hispanic male, and Aldo Edgar Romero-Milan, a 30-year-old Hispanic male. The tragic incident took place late in the evening of June 26, 2024, marking the city's 28th and 29th homicides of the year.
According to the initial release, the shooting was reported at approximately 11:31 p.m. at 2317 South Pleasant Valley Road. Callers informed authorities about multiple shots fired and subsequent screams overheard, when Austin PD officers responded, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the second succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital, and the third, despite life-threatening injuries, is currently in stable condition. The investigation is still in its active phase, and at this time, no suspects have been apprehended.
Austin Police Department's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists have taken charge of the scene to process all relevant evidence and to conduct interviews with witnesses. The department encourages anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
