Emergency services responded to a crash on Pittsburgh's McKees Rocks Bridge Wednesday afternoon, resulting in hospitalization and an ongoing search for a driver who fled the scene. According to a public safety report from the City of Pittsburgh, police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to deal with the collision involving two SUVs.
The incident took place shortly before 2 p.m., when an SUV driven by an adult male collided with another SUV, this one heading into the city and driven by an adult female with her daughter aboard. Following the crash, both the woman and her older teen/young adult daughter were taken to the hospital in stable condition for medical evaluations.
Creating further complications for law enforcement, the male driver who caused the accident took off before officers arrived on-site, starting a manhunt that has him still at large. The bridge, a key artery connecting parts of the city, was subsequently shut down to traffic as crews worked to clear the aftermath of the crash.
While the identity of the male driver remains unknown, local authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
