Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in an aggravated robbery at the Vegas Vape & Smoke shop in the 5600 block of Treaschwig Road, as reported by Constable Mark Herman's Office. According to the store employee, the incident occurred yesterday, when a black male dressed in a black hoodie and pants entered the establishment asking to view goods behind the counter. As per the employee's recount, the suspect tried to make off with multiple items in a plastic bag.
During the attempted theft, the employee acted, utilizing a security feature to lock the door in hopes of thwarting the suspect's escape. Constable Mark Herman's Facebook post indicates that the suspect, who has short dreads and wore no facial hair, then produced a firearm with an extended magazine from his waist and demanded the door be opened. In a statement obtained by the Constable's office, "Open the door right now," the suspect allegedly commanded, prompting the employee, fearing for their life, to comply and unlock the doors, allowing the suspect to flee.
The incident, which was promptly reported to the Constable's Office, has prompted an urgent appeal to the public for assistance in identifying the armed suspect. "If you recognize this suspect, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement," urged Constable Mark Herman in the public appeal.
