Early this morning, police responded to a high-tech alert indicating gunshots in the 1900 block of East North Avenue. Baltimore officers arrived to find a 46-year-old man wounded by gunfire. The Shot Spotter system, which detects and conveys the location of gunfire, was integral in alerting authorities to the crime scene, as reported by the Baltimore Police Department.
The identity of the 46-year-old male has not yet been disclosed. According to a statement obtained by the Baltimore Police, medics swiftly responded, but their efforts at resuscitation proved futile as the victim was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
Baltimore Homicide detectives are now spearheading the investigation, seeking any information that can lead to an arrest.
