Constable Mark Herman's office was called into action in response to suspicious activity at a local Bank of America. On Tuesday, deputies arrived at the bank situated in the 3800 block of Atascocita Road where they discovered that a female suspect had tried to quickly cash a forged check and then fled in a vehicle. Details provided on Constable Herman's Facebook page described the chain of events that led to the suspect's arrest.
The deputies were able to locate the vehicle associated with the alleged forgery and performed a traffic stop. The occupants, identified as Nia Wytch and Shante Thomas, were found to not only be involved in the current incident but also had open misdemeanor warrants.
"Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for their open warrants. Shante Thomas was charged with Forgery. Her bond was set at $4,000.00 out of the 183rd District Court. Nia Wytch was arrested for the open warrants. Her bond and court information have not been set at this time," a statement issued by Constable Mark Herman in a Precinct 4 Facebook post.
Further details on the suspects' charges and court dates will likely follow as the justice system proceeds.
