An elderly woman in Bellingham, Massachusetts, suffered injuries yesterday morning after being run over by her own car in a harrowing incident that also involved a child and a bicycle. WHDH reports that the woman was trying to back her vehicle into a driveway when she exited the car to assist a child who had taken a fall from their bike.
According to the Bellingham police, the woman, unfortunately, failed to put her vehicle in park, which led it to roll back, striking her and continuing its unforeseen journey into a nearby home. The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. on Plymouth Road. The woman was subsequently transported by medical helicopter to a local trauma center, although her current condition has not been disclosed, as police told WCVB.
