The Austin Police Department is currently investigating the discovery of a body near a popular business sector in southwest Austin on Thursday morning. The body was located just before 9 a.m. near the West Woods Shopping Center on Bee Caves Road, close to Old Walsh Tarlton, as reported by KVUE.
Police arrived on the scene in response to what was described as an urgent welfare check call, and upon their arrival, they found the deceased individual, as per KVUE. The identity of the person has not been released by official sources at this time, and the case is not being approached as a homicide according to law enforcement statements.
In a separate but related report by CBS Austin, authorities were said to have responded to the scene at approximately 8:54 a.m., this occurrence taking place in the parking lot of the Emler Swim School, situated in the 3200 block of Bee Cave Road near the Rollingwood neighborhood.
APD Homicide Detectives were subsequently called in to process the area, but as it stands, police maintain that the death is not being actively investigated as a homicide the circumstances surrounding the death are still under investigation, the police are working to gather more information and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
