Authorities in Pittsburgh were dispatched to a grim scene along the Monongahela River on Wednesday afternoon after a body was discovered near the Sandcastle Water Park. Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS units responded to the call at around 1:30 p.m., where River Rescue efforts subsequently retrieved the body of an adult female from the water, as reported by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.
Detectives are actively piecing together this unsettling puzzle, cause and manner of death along with the victim's identity which will be determined by the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner once they have conducted their due diligence.
