Massachusetts State Troopers arrested a man last Thursday suspected of drug trafficking following a vehicle crash on Route 495 in Middleboro. The incident occurred in the early afternoon hours when Troopers, in collaboration with the Middleboro Fire Department, responded to a rollover crash. According to a release from Massachusetts State Police News, Troopers did not find any injures among the two occupants of the vehicle, though initially, it was reported that one might have been ejected into the woods.
During their investigation, officials encountered inconsistencies between the two occupants' stories. Alongside the reports of a potential person in the woods, officers found a significant amount of cash in smaller denominations at the scene. This discovery prompted Troopers to bring in a K-9 unit to assist in the search for any possible narcotic evidence.
The K-9 unit pulled toward the woods and uncovered a plastic bag containing small bundles suspected to be Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine. DJOSUE DOSSANTOS, a 25-year-old Boston resident, was subsequently taken into custody. The juvenile passenger, aged 17, was released to their parents and is due to face charges at a later date. Law enforcement seized approximately 38 grams of Fentanyl and 14 grams of Crack Cocaine in total.
Further checks revealed DOSSANTOS was operating the vehicle with a revoked Massachusetts driver's license. According to the report by the Mass State Police News, DOSSANTOS has been arraigned at the Wareham District Court facing several charges including trafficking in Fentanyl and possession of Cocaine with intent to distribute among others.
