
A fatal collision that occurred last night in Stark County has claimed the life of a Canton motorcyclist. As reported by WKYC, the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed the incident, which took place at the intersection of Faircrest Street Southwest and Dueber Avenue Southwest in Canton Township around 11:15 p.m.
47-year-old Brak V. Hayhurst was southbound on Dueber Avenue riding his Yamaha motorcycle when he collided with a Subaru car traveling westbound on Faircrest Street. The motorcycle struck the Subaru within the intersection, and Hayhurst, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene. FOX8 noted that the other 21-year-old Canton woman driver did not sustain injuries.
An ongoing investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol suggests that neither alcohol nor drugs were contributing factors in the crash. According to information provided by Cleveland19, the driver of the Subaru was wearing her seatbelt when the incident occurred.
