Historic Downtown Carrollton is gearing up for a grand display of international flavors and performances with the Carrollton Culture Fest slated for September 28 from 3-9 p.m. The city is promising an upgraded experience from the World of Foodies event with an expanded showcase of culinary arts, live entertainment, and a broader celebration of various nationalities, as detailed by the City of Carrollton, Texas. With free admission, attendees at 1106 S. Broadway Street will be privy to an array of craft and food vendors offering specialty goods and culturally-themed dishes for purchase.
The festivities will include a stage set up on 4th Avenue featuring performances through the day, starting with Bandan Koro African Drum and Dance Ensemble at 3 p.m., followed by a showcase of Filipino Traditional Dances from 4:30-5:30 p.m.; right after, the Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe takes over from 5:30-6 p.m., the DL Dance Art School will show their elegance from 6-7 p.m., and Kathak Rhythms will close the evening with their performance from 7:30-8:45 p.m. All times are subject to slight changes. The culinary journey will be rich, as stated by the City of Carrollton, Texas, with options ranging from Asian to Caribbean-inspired, Haitian to Korean, and Thai to Venezuelan cuisines from vendors such as The Boba Plug, BopBop Korean BBQ, and Cousins Maine Lobster LLC among others.
Adding to the milieu, craft vendors will present culturally diverse novelties and creations, including Art by the Andes and Henna Creations, not to mention Ross' Rowdy Bees ensuring that there are indeed more choices to come for the discerning guests. The Korean American Youth Artists of Texas, also part of the event, will extend an invitation to the younger crowd with kid-friendly crafts aimed at delivering both fun and educational experiences.
