The City of Carrollton has announced its star-studded lineup for the 14th annual Festival at the Switchyard, taking place on November 2 in the heart of Downtown Carrollton. Headlining the event is the iconic rock band the Wallflowers, helmed by the raspy-voiced Jakob Dylan. They're set to deliver a mix of their classic hits and material from their latest album, Exit Wounds. The Wallflowers, known for their Grammy-winning single "One Headlight," have promised fans an unforgettable night, according to the City of Carrollton's announcement.
Alternative rock band Deep Blue Something, recognized for their hit "Breakfast at Tiffany's," will be taking the stage as the evening's opening act. Formed by brothers Todd and Toby Pipes, the band's reunion and subsequent release of new music, including their Locust House EP, has sparked excitement among both new listeners and those riding the wave of 90s nostalgia. The City of Carrollton reveals that fans can also look forward to a spirited performance from Downtown Fever, an offshoot of the local favorite Emerald City Band.
During the day, attendees will experience a range of musical tributes, from Mock Lobster's energetic renditions of the B-52’s classics to Pearl Gem's heartfelt homage to Pearl Jam. Havana NRG will bring a Latin flair to the afternoon with its diverse Cuban-style music. Country artist Jason Kyle Wickens is expected to charm the crowd with his Texas-infused melodies, while the School of Rock (Dallas) students will kick off the main stage entertainment with confidence, blending their music education with a live performance.
In addition to the music, the festival boasts a variety of attractions including a beer garden, children's activities, and a plethora of vendors. Craft and food vendors have until September 30 to apply for a booth, with early applicants receiving a discount, as per the City of Carrollton. There's still an opportunity for local and national businesses to tap into the event's promotional potential by becoming a sponsor, with packages crafted to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement at this flagship Carrollton community event.
