The suspect, wielding a firearm, intimidated the store clerk and demanded cash from the register. Initially, the clerk mistook the man for a customer, asking where to find the water before the situation escalated, as reported by Boston.com.
Authorities have turned to the public for assistance after releasing a video depicting the crime. The store's surveillance footage, as showcased by 7NEWS, captures the robber as he enters the store, and at gunpoint, commands the employee to empty the cash register. The Chelsea police continue to investigate this incident, and they urge anyone with information to come forward.
The robbery, occurring around 4:45 p.m., involved a suspect described as wearing a bright blue pullover, sunglasses, and a grey baseball cap adorned with a New England Patriots logo. According to the NBC10 Boston interview with the clerk, the man threatened him with the gun, demanding the cash in the register. The clerk, who was visibly shaken but unharmed after the event, complied as the suspect took approximately $800.
