A 24-year-old Chicago man faces serious charges following a violent incident in the city's southwest side. Jermaine Allen, of the 7900 block of S. Artesian, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts that include attempt to commit murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, Chicago Police Department reports.
The stabbing, which took place several hours before Allen's arrest, left three people with serious injuries—an 18-year-old male and two 45-year-old females. It occurred inside a business located on the 7800 block of S. Western Ave, a locale not unused to confront violence making its way to innocently tread floors, as per the CPD. Allen is slated to fully face the repercussions of his alleged actions in a detention hearing, scheduled for today at 2600 S. California.
All three victims were reported to have suffered great bodily harm due to the incident. The Chicago Police Department's announcement did not elaborate on the motive behind the attack or the condition of the victims following the assault. However, the police have confirmed that the alleged assailant was taken into custody on August 4, at 1:14 p.m., shortly after the stabbing took place.
