Authorities are reaching out to the public in search of information regarding a serious hit-and-run incident that occurred in Chicago's 7th District last week. The crash resulted in a black Cadillac being struck by a truck, leading to a tragic internal decapitation of the victim. The collision took place at the intersection of 74th Street and Loomis Blvd., on Saturday, August 10 at approximately 6:38 p.m., as described by the Chicago Police Department.
The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert trying to locate and identify the driver of a silver Nissan Frontier pickup truck, suspected to be the vehicle involved. The model of the truck is estimated to be between the years 2001 and 2004.
According to the police report, the truck was seen driving through a solid red light and colliding with the Cadillac. Post-accident, the truck was last observed to quickly have driven southbound in the 7400 block of South Loomis Blvd. The truck in question should have extensive damage to its front right side, and it lacks a front license plate, which might make it easier to identify.
Police officials are urging anyone with information that could lead to finding the vehicle or the driver to come forward.
