Chicago Police Department is actively searching for the person responsible for a severe hit-and-run incident that occurred in the 009th District. According to the CPD, on the evening of July 20, a pedestrian was struck by a white 2016 Dodge Charger at approximately 9:19 pm. The victim, while walking in the crosswalk along the 5400 block of South Wells Street, sustained serious injuries.
Details provided by the Chicago Police reveal the vehicle was discovered abandoned a short time later near the 200 block of West Marquette Road. This isn't to only speculate but to actively urge any witnesses who might have seen the occupants exit the vehicle to come forward. The urgency of this request underscores the importance placed on giving closure to the case and aid to the injured victim.
The police are looking for a white 2016 Dodge Charger SXT, a 4-door sedan. Its abandonment following the hit-and-run adds a perplexing layer to the investigation, as the absence of the driver and any passengers leaves only the cold metallic shell as a partial witness to the crash.
