
A boy was urgently transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds yesterday afternoon. The Memphis Police Department was alerted to the incident when the boy arrived at the hospital via a private vehicle, as first reported by Action News 5.
Sources from FOX13 indicate that the call to the authorities was made shortly before 2:30 p.m. Proceedings to unravel the exact location of the crime led police to the doorsteps of an apartment at the Chickasaw Place Apartments on E Red Oak Drive, where the boy reportedly was shot.
At present, the young victim remains in critical condition. While the details surrounding the event are scant, the investigation is ongoing. The child's age and identity have not been disclosed, maintaining a sense of privacy amidst the ongoing inquiry.
