
A high-speed chase on California roads led to the capture of two suspects after California Highway Patrol officers located a stolen vehicle, a white Lexus, which initiated a pursuit that ended in the City of Oakland. In a statement on their Facebook page, the California Highway Patrol - Hayward explained that the driver of the Lexus refused to stop leading to the chase that subsequently ended with both the driver and passenger trying, and failing to flee on foot.
According to the report from California Highway Patrol, after the suspects were apprehended, an inventory of the Lexus yielded a handgun without a serial number, equipped with an extended magazine. Both the driver, and the passenger were arrested and booked into Santa Rita County Jail following the discovery. The California Highway Patrol reaffirmed their mission stating, "The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security."
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the two individuals involved in the incident, nor have they provided details concerning the charges they might be facing related to the vehicle theft, evasion, and possession of the unserialized firearm.
