A somber cloud hovers over the 7500 block of Oak Grove Ave in Citrus Heights, following a residential fire that claimed the life of a local man earlier this summer. The Citrus Heights Police Department, alongside the Sacramento Metro Fire Department, responded to the emergency call on the morning of June 7, approximately at 11:45 a.m. After the flames were put down, the tragic revelation was that 61-year-old George Benson did not survive the incident.
The Citrus Heights Police Department is now actively seeking information from the public, A call to action is needed to investigate the circumstances that led to the fire. An appeal for help was posted on the department's official Facebook page, encouraging anyone with knowledge of the situation or who might have seen a vehicle of interest to come forward with details. The car in question, details of which can be found on their page, could potentially lead to identify a suspect or significant leads in the case.
The Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers has stepped in, offering a reward for information that successfully leads to the identification or arrest of any suspects involved in this unfortunate event. Authorities are hopeful that the combination of public participation and the incentive of a reward will encourage potential witnesses to decisively come forward with valuable information.
