If you've been feeling the tech burnout or the hum of the city has finally turned from a background buzz to a relentless drone, it might be time to turn to nature for a recharge. In a serene act of self-care mixed with environmental immersion, Cleary Lake Regional Park is hosting a therapeutic practice known as forest bathing – a literal breath of fresh air for those of us suffocated by the concrete jungle.
On Saturday, August 17, from 9 to 11 AM, ANFT-certified guide David Motzenbecker from Motz Studios will lead a session of forest bathing – a concept originating from the Japanese practice of “Shinrin Yoku,” which roughly means 'taking in the forest atmosphere', as reported by Scott County Minnesota. This isn't your run-of-the-mill stroll through the woods. It's about engaging all senses, tuning out the noise, and being present among the trees.
You'll need to make a reservation and do that two days prior – by August 15 – by calling 763-559-6700, as detailed by Scott County Minnesota.
