A 7-year-old boy was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident while riding his skateboard yesterday evening in Cleveland, sparking a police search for the driver responsible. According to FOX8 news, the young victim was riding in a parking lot driveway at 16024 Lakeshore Boulevard around 7:20 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle and dragged underneath.
The Cleveland Police Department stated that the suspect's vehicle, a large SUV with tinted windows, exited the parking lot after the accident and left. The boy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries. Cleveland19 reported that the police are seeking assistance in identifying the SUV involved in the tragic event.
Detectives have released photos of the vehicle of interest to locate the culprit. WKYC identified the vehicle as a black Mercedes GLS450 4MATIC and provided images to aid public recognition. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
