The town of Collierville began its day with a hiccup in water flow, the local government reporting a sudden drop in water pressure that left faucets with a weak stream and residents with ripples of concern. According to the Town of Collierville, the low pressure was due to "a failure of Pump 3", further strained by peak morning water usage, typically seen from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
While the inconvenience was apparent, the disruption skirted serious health concerns, with the pressure dipping to 42 psi, which remains well over the state's emergency threshold of 20 psi. This meant there was "NO need to boil water" for the town's inhabitants, per the Town of Collierville. Typically, Collierville enjoys a robust pressure ranging between 60 and 80 psi.
Relief was not far on the horizon. Demand diminished, and with it, a gradual restoration of the status quo commenced, water pressure steadily climbing back to its normal state. Charting back to normalcy, the town awaits a logistical boost—a replacement pump, a critical component to avert future failures, is on the route, and its arrival is earmarked for today.
Despite the inconvenience that surged through the morning routines, Collierville officials are proactive in their outreach, urging residents with questions or concerns to engage in dialogue. The town appreciates its residents' understanding and directs any further inquiries to Collierville Public Services at 457-2800.
