A tragic burst of road rage left a teenager dead on Columbus' Southwest Side, as a 17-year-old boy succumbed to gunshot wounds following an altercation at a gas station. Gage Anderson was identified as the victim of the shooting that took place outside the United Dairy Farmers store located at 3535 Clime Road, near Demorest Road. "Officers found the teen, identified as Gage Anderson, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound," The Columbus Dispatch reported.
According to the authorities, the call to the scene arrived at approximately 8:11 p.m. yesterday, where they discovered Anderson in critical condition. The Columbus Division of Police has since charged 30-year-old Skyler Burley with murder about the incident. Despite rapid medical attention, Anderson was pronounced dead at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center at 8:40 p.m., as stated in an article by The Columbus Dispatch.
Further details emerged from witness accounts, as they provided critical information about the suspect's vehicle that fled the scene. NBC4i reports that a Columbus Police Department helicopter promptly located the vehicle and officers subsequently stopped and apprehended Burley at the intersection of Lynward Road and Maurine Drive, a little over a mile away from where the shooting took place.
