A homicide investigation is ongoing after a shooting incident claimed the life of Dajuan Rios on the 800 block of Murray Ave. The Columbus Police Department has identified Brittney Nicole McBride, a 34-year-old female, as the suspect in this case. McBride has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail, according to a media release by the Columbus Police.
The original call, reporting the shooting, was responded to by Patrol Officers on August 3 at around 11:29 pm. They discovered Rios in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Grant Hospital in critical condition by CFD Medic 18. Despite attempts to quickly save his life, Rios was pronounced deceased in the early hours of the following morning by medical personnel. The tragic event is still shrouded in uncertainty as detectives diligently work to piece together the circumstances behind the incident.
